BLUE TIP PARADE GUIDELINES

DUE TO SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION, WE HAVE TO MAKE CHANGES TO STAGING THE PARADE. WE ARE WORKING WITH THE CITE TO DO THIS. WE WILL LET PEOPLE KNOW WHEN THINGS ARE WORKED OUT.

1. All vehicles, units, and parade entries must be presented and operated at safe speeds and controlled manner so as not to endanger people or property. Parade participants are expected to conduct themselves in a courteous and safe manner, and to present themselves and their displays in good taste.  Participation in the parade is strictly limited to vehicles, units and parade entries that have properly registered in advance.

2. Entries are limited to one commercial vehicle per business entry, no more than two vehicles per non-profit entry.

3. No floats or parade entry over 12 ft. 6 in. in height.

4. Parade line-up and staging will begin at 4 p.m. the day of the parade in the parking lots of Wadsworth High School, 360 Broad Street, Wadsworth.  Enter from the Broad Street entrance and check in with a Rotary Club coordinator for line up instructions.  All entries must be in position and ready by 5:30 p.m. If you are in the float section, you may arrive by 3:30 p.m.

5. All entries/units must check-in upon arrival with the Wadsworth Rotary Club parade coordinators and be directed to their assigned staging area. All units/entries must keep a representative with the entry at all times within the assigned staging area.

6. Wadsworth Rotary Club parade coordinators will be on duty in each staging area to ensure the smooth and orderly progression of the set up and of the parade itself. These parade organizers have the authority to remove any person or unit/entry causing a delay, violating festival parade guidelines, or failing to cooperate with their instructions.

7. Under no circumstances shall any participant, unit/entry move to a different position within the parade line-up, before or during the parade, except under the direction of a Wadsworth Rotary Club parade coordinator.

8. Proper unit spacing and parade pace is critical. Voluntary stopping for drill formation, reverse marching by bands, or drill teams cannot exceed 45 seconds. You should keep up with the units in front of youDO NOT CREATE GAPS.

9. Participants riding in vehicles or trailers are required to provide and have their own vehicles, drivers, and insurance.

10. Candy, fliers, and any other handout may be distributed to spectators only in a safe and courteous manner. Any participants caught distributing candy or objects with indifference to the risk of or intent to harm any person or group, will be asked to exit the parade and may disqualify their entry from the parade.  The Blue Tip Festival Committee asks that candy and material be handed out by walkers only.

11. No fire, explosives, or fireworks may be brought into the staging areas or be part of any parade entry. No weapons may be part of any parade entry, except for law enforcement officers and color guards with ceremonial firearms.

12. The use prior to or possession of any alcoholic beverage and/or illegal substance is forbidden during the parade.

13. No dangerous, vicious, or unsafe animal may be brought into the staging area or participate in the parade.

14. Race cars or racing vehicles may only be towed or displayedthey cannot be operated under their own power.

15. These guidelines are subject to change without notice. Failure to comply with the guidelines can result in unit member or entire unit/entry removal before the start of the parade and possible elimination from any future parades.

16. Please be nice, be careful, and be considerate so we can all enjoy and continue the Blue Tip Festival parade tradition.
